Laws of the Game Modified

Coaching Box:

Coaches and Assistant Coaches (one coach and one assistant per team) are required to stay inside the coaching box marked on the opposite side of the field from the spectators. No parents/spectators are allowed on the players’ sideline or behind the goals.

Playing Time:

Each player SHALL play a minimum of 50% of the total playing time of each game. Players must have a chance to play offense and defense to ensure technical development.

Player Equipment:

Shin guards are MANDATORY and are to be worn under the outer sock (put shin guard on and then the outer sock) at practice and on game day. This is MANDATORY! Tennis shoes or soft cleat soccer shoes are allowed. Players during the game are NOT allowed to wear jewelry including starter earrings. Again, the no jewelry policy applies to starter earrings. For the sake of your child, do not have their ears pierced immediately before or during the soccer season as earrings will have to be removed during games. This policy is for the safety of all children.  Player equipment decisions are under the direction of the referee for the game.  Unsafe conditions must be corrected before the player is allowed to participate in play on the field.  Understand that player safety takes precedence over fashion and comfort.

Parent Reminder:

Please remind all parents that NO PETS, NO NOISEMAKERS and NO SKATEBOARDS/SCOOTERS are allowed on game day. NO SMOKING except in designated smoking areas.

Coaches Reminder:

As the coach you are responsible for the actions of your players and their parents/spectators. If you, your assistant coach, players or parent/spectators behave in an unacceptable manner the consequences may include being told to leave the field by a referee, a suspension from attending games, possible expulsion from the Rotary Soccer Park, expulsion from North Rutherford Soccer Association and possible disciplinary actions.
